A ROAD in Sheffield has now been reopened after it was cordoned off while police investigated an alleged assault in which a man suffered head injuries.

Manor Oaks Road, in Wybourn, was taped off after the 30-year-old man was hurt at around 1.25pm yesterday.

The victim was taken to hospital, initially with minor head injuries, but his condition later worsened and he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Manor Oaks Road was closed in both directions at the Manor Oaks Gardens junction, and reopened at around 11.50am.
