A man arrested after an armed siege in Sheffield has been questioned in connection with the murder of Grant Bodell.

A planned arrest was made yesterday by police at a property on High Street Lane in Sheffield after a three hour standoff with armed police.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Four men have previously been charged with the murder of Mr Bodell; Torrington Smith, 26, of Samuel Close, Norfolk Park, Marvis Smith, 29, of Park Grange Road, Norfolk Park, Stevin Pierre, 25, of Waterslacks Close, Woodhouse and Brendan McFarlane, 21, of Hyde Park Terrace, Park Hill.

All four will appear for a Plea and Case Management Hearing at Sheffield Crown Court on Monday 5 October. A trial has been scheduled for January 2016.

Mr Bodell, 23, was found with fatal injuries on parkland off Queen Mary Road in the Manor area of Sheffield at around 2.20am on Saturday 21 June 2014.

He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.
