UPDATE: Death of man in Sheffield park 'not suspicious'

Detectives investigating the death of a man in a Sheffield park have ruled out foul play.

An investigation into the death was launched after the discovery of a body in the Beauchief Gardens park, close to the Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet, Abbeydale Road South, this morning.

A police cordon was erected and the area was under police guard in the early stages of the police probe.

But this afternoon South Yorkshire Police said the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A force spokeswoman said: "Following the discovery of the body of a man in Sheffield this morning, police can confirm that the death is not being treated as suspicious."Emergency services were called to an area in Abbeydale Road South this morning at about 7.40am after the body of the man was found."
