A Sheffield tattoo shop owner says it’s ‘lucky nobody was injured’ after a car smashed through his front window after colliding with a police car
Deborah Van Schaick, owner of Van Schaicks Tattoo and Piercing Cafe, in Hillsborough, said a car smashed into the front of her shop on Sunday afternoon.
According to eye witnesses, the crash occurred after a police car responding to another incident drove through a red light and hit the Audi.
Deborah said: “It’s lucky nobody was injured. If somebody had been standing in the shop window it could have been a lot different.
“The crash caused a gas leak in the shop and must have caused a few thousand pounds worth of damage.”
South Yorkshire Police said: “The police car involved was responding to an incident when it was involved in the collision with another vehicle at around 4.20pm on Sunday 31 July.
“An investigation into the collision is now underway.
