SHEFFIELD is today united in respect as both the Blades and the Owls prepared to pay tribute to Gary Speed.

The Wales legend - who played, coached and managed at Bramall Lane - passed away last weekend aged 42.

A number of Speed’s former teammates and colleagues will be present when United lay a wreath on the pitch before this afternoon’s FA Cup tie with Torquay.

Across the city at Hillsborough - where Gary Megson, who worked with Speed at Bolton Wanderers, is now in charge - Wednesday supporters are to hold a minute’s applause before the game against Aldershot.
