Two witnesses sought in stab death investigation - CCTV FOOTAGE

POLICE officers have carried out a painstaking search of the Rotherham home of a woman who was brutally stabbed to death.

As forensic experts searched the murder scene at Foljambe Road, Eastwood, detectives renewed their appeal for information.

Julie Gallagher, aged 41, was found dead at her home last Saturday. She had suffered a single stab wound to the chest.

She was last seen alive leaving The Cranworth public house on Fitzwilliam Road a week ago, at 1.15am last Thursday March 25, three days before her body was found.

Officers were out on the streets of Eastwood last night trying to gather information about her last movements.

Det Supt Colin Fisher, who is leading the investigation, released CCTV footage of Julie talking outside the pub on the Wednesday afternoon.

He has appealed for two women to whom Julie speaks in the footage to come forward as potential witnesses.

He is also keen to speak to anyone who saw Julie between Wednesday and Saturday, and has asked that anyone who is able to help calls 01709 832 690.

A 55-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains on police bail.
