Two Sheffield men charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment after armed police incident

Two Sheffield men have been charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment after an alleged kidnapping which prompted an armed police response.

The Star reported yesterday (January 10) that six men were arrested for suspected kidnapping after an armed police incident in Blackstock Road, Gleadless.

South Yorkshire Police today confirmed two of the six men have been charged.

Mubarrack Nassar Hassan, aged 24, of Glossop Road, Broomhill, and Ahmed Ismail, 22, of Exeter Drive, Broomhall, have been charged with two counts of kidnap, two counts of false imprisonment, three counts of blackmail and offences under the Firearms Act.

They have been remanded into custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrates Court on Monday, January 12.

Of the other four people arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 22-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man remain in custody,
