Sheffield is set to receive a jobs boost with two new stores opening their doors in the city.
UK retailer USC launches at Meadowhall this week, providing Sheffield’s fashion- conscious shoppers with a one-stop store for menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessories.
The manager of the new store – which will replace the current Republic shop in the Sheffield shopping centre – said: “This concept store will be showcasing the best of designer brands such as Rock and Rags by Firetrap, G-Star Raw, Tommy Denim, Salsa, Replay, Delta Tribe, Soul Cal and Motel.
“We’ve added some fantastic new labels to our autumn winter collections too, such as Can’t Stop The Crooks, Supra and Rum Knuckles, so we’re confident these will be loved by the fashionable people of Sheffield.”
Meanwhile, a nearby former pub has been converted into a new Giant UK cycling shop.
The Earl of Arundel pub, on Queens Road, has been completely transformed by the Taiwanese-owned Giant company, the largest manufacturer of bicycles in the world.
The new shop covers two floors and has dedicated rooms for mountain and road bikes.
It also features a professional bike fitting system that measures your riding position and pedalling technique.
Store manager Andy Liversage said: “We are thrilled about the Giant store Sheffield.
“We believe it offers our customers, existing and new, a completely different appeal and retail environment.
“The store sets a standard in cycle retailing.
“We have a huge selection of bikes and rider gear to stock up on your cycling must-haves, as well as a fully equipped workshop.”
