Emergency services were alerted to a two-car crash on the A61 between Hornsbridge and the Lockoford island at around 11.10pm last night.

Two men from a Nissan Micra were taken to the Sheffield Northern General Hospital for treatment, while the 21-year-old driver of a Volkswagen Golf involved in the crash was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

He has been bailed pending further inquiries.

The collision led to the closure of the road, which has since re-opened.

Witnesses should call Derbyshire police on 101.
