TWO men have been arrested over a shooting in Sheffield on New Year’s Day.
During the incident, an 18-year-old youth was shot in the abdomen close to Halfway Gardens, Halfway, at around 3.05am.
The first suspect, a 27-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in the early hours of this morning, while the second - a man from Beighton - was arrested later this morning.
The men are currently in police custody, helping with enquiries.
Meanwhile detectives are still investigating another shooting, believed to be unrelated, which happened at around 4.30am on London Road, near Hill Street.
Supt Martin Hemingway, from South Yorkshire Police, said: “We will continue to take robust action over these incidents in a way that the people of Sheffield expect us to.”
