TWO people were taken to hospital after a road traffic accident on a Sheffield street yesterday afternoon.

The collision happened on Buchanan Road in Parson Cross at around 1pm on Friday, and is understood to have involved a taxi.

Buchanan Road was cordoned off with police tape while officers attended the scene, and ambulances were also called out to the crash.

Two people, one believed to be a young woman, were treated by paramedics and taken to hospital by ambulance.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said neither individual suffered serious injuries.

A diversion was put in place for motorists while Buchanan Road was cordoned off.

The spokeswoman said the street was reopened to traffic by 4pm.
