Two cyclists seriously hurt after tandem and car crash

Police have appealed for witnesses to a collision in Sheffield which left two cyclists seriously injured.

The pair – a 52-year-old man and 45-year-old woman – were riding a tandem bicycle when they were involved in a collision with a silver Ford Fiesta car on Saturday, shortly before 11am.

The crash happened on Bramall Lane, near to the junction with Queens Road.

The junction was closed for several hours while emergency services responded to the incident.

Both the cyclists were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.
