Detectives have made two more arrests over a raid which left a Rotherham pensioner fighting for life.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary, and a teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods over the raid at 80-year-old Tommy Ward’s home in Salisbury Road, Maltby, last October.
Mr Ward’s safe, containing his £30,000 life savings, was stolen and the OAP was savagely beaten.
Detective Inspector Richard Partridge said: “This remains an incredibly active investigation and our officers continue to piece together what happened to Mr Ward in October last year.
“We think that there are still people out there with information that could prove crucial.”
Two 19-year-old men remain on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and burglary.
