BRItish twirlers hope to run rings around the opposition after being selected for the European and World Championships during a Sheffield trial.
Sixty of the country’s best competitors were at Hillsborough Leisure Centre for the annual British Baton Twirling Sports Association’s European and World Selections.
About 20 competitors will be going to the European Championships in Turin, Italy, in July, or the World Championships in Jacksonville, USA, in August.
The Hillsborough Leisure Centre event comes ahead of the British Open Championships at Ponds Forge on May 28 and 29.
Richard Apps, general manager at Hillsborough Leisure Centre, said: “Not only is it a fun sport but an unusual one, so we hope it can show new ideas to keep fit.”
