Twenty three arrests in rogue trader crackdown

A police blitz on rogue traders netted 23 suspected criminals.

The three-day operation targeted con artists across the county.

South Yorkshire Police said they had made 23 arrests, including six on suspicion of burglary.

They reported 11 people on summons, and 1,137 householders were given crime prevention advice.

The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency checked 598 vehicles and 35 vehicles were seized.

A total of 106 fixed penalty notices was issued for broken lights, bald tyres, oil leaks and other defects, and 120 vehicles were identified as being ‘vulnerable’.
