An exclusive debate between candidates going head to head in Sheffield Hallam will be shown on The Star’s website tonight.

It will be the only event current MP Nick Clegg, Deputy Prime Minister, takes part in with rival candidates in the run-up to the general election in May.

The Star was due to post live updates online from the debate at 2pm, with readers encouraged to join in using the #stardebate hashtag. It will then be shown in full through our website from 7pm.

Other candidates taking part are Labour’s Oliver Coppard, Green candidate Peter Garbutt, UKIP’s Joe Jenkins and independent Carlton Reeve. Conservative Ian Walker cannot attend so Stephen Castens was representing him.
