A FOUNDING trustee of a community foundation has said a fond farewell as she heads to the Caribbean.
Isadora Powell has left the South Yorkshire Community Foundation – which aims to improve lives in communities by raising money to boost projects – to start a new life in Jamaica after getting married.
She had been involved with the organisation since its early days in 1986, when trustees met at the top of a staircase in an upstairs room on Trippet Lane, Sheffield city centre.
Isadora, one of 16 trustees, said: “My passion has always been the foundation.
“We started with little bits of money, then, all of a sudden, we were giving £25,000 away to one group.
“It has been a delight to work with so many great people in this city as a trustee.”
