Volunteers from Rotherham College have been getting their hands dirty after taking on a clean up project tackling a busy community centre.
Members of The Prince’s Trust programme have been sprucing up the High Street Centre in Rawmarsh, by painting, clearing, gardening, designing a canvas and building raised beds to plant flowers in.
Andile Gumede, aged 17 from Moorgate, said: “We chose the High Street Centre because they needed our help the most.
“The team worked really well together and I really enjoyed working outside. I’d like to study a public service qualification at the college and pursue a career in the community.”
Caroline Langston, the centre’s development manager, said: “We are really pleased with everything the team have achieved in such a short time and we hope they are proud of what they have accomplished despite the winter weather.”
