On Wednesday, June 5, Sheffield is to be visited by William Reddaway and his horse Strider on their Ride Around England.

Their challenge is to visit the four corners of England, visiting 30 cathedrals and abbeys on their way and hopefully raising £250,000 for charity from their efforts. The whole trip could take up to six months.

The plan is to be in Sheffield around midday, where they will be outside the Cathedral to meet the public, before travelling on to a stay-over on the outskirts of the city.

William has a website www.rideroundengland.org where details of his chosen charities can be found.

He is to raise money for The Family Holiday Association and Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre. You can also follow Strider on Facebook.

I’m sure that they would both love the support of the people of Sheffield.
