Tributes have flooded in for two ‘lovely’ brothers killed after a horror car crash in Doncaster at the weekend.

Thomas Isle, aged 18, and his 13-year-old brother, Ashley, were travelling in a red Seat Ibiza when it crashed on the A18 High Street, close to Wyndthorpe Hall near Dunsville on Saturday.

Thomas , who was driving the car, died at the scene, and Ashley died on Monday night in Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

A family friend, who did not want to be named, said everybody’s thoughts were with the brothers’ dad, who has been named locally as Mark Isle.

The friend said: “It’s just such a massive shock and there are no words to express to Mark everyone’s support for him. He’s a good man who doesn’t deserve this. Losing his entire family as a single parent – there are just no words.”

Ashley was a year nine pupil at Ash Hill Academy, Hatfield, while Thomas left the school in 2013.

Headteacher David Williams said: “This has had a significant impact.

“Thomas was well-liked by the pupils and the staff and was extremely popular.

“Ashley was a lovely young man who was also well-liked. He was a member of the academy rugby team.

“A lot of our pupils are very upset; we have specialist support in school for them.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to their family and friends at this difficult time.”

Pupils have been invited to wear blue, said to be Ashley’s favourite colour, to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital on Friday.

Hundreds of tributes have also been left on social media. Sarah Jepson said: “RIP boys. Thoughts are with their family at this very sad time. My daughter is 18 and she sometimes drives her little brother around, can’t begin to imagine the pain.”

Christina Barber-Callender said: “So desperately sad. Two lovely lads. RIP Tom and Ash. Sincere condolences to their dad and family.”

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Ashley Isle and his 18-year-old brother, Thomas, were in a red Seat Ibiza that was involved in a collision on the A18 High Street, at around 6.40pm on November 7.

“Thomas suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

“Ashley was critically injured and taken to hospital where he sadly died.

“The family continues to receive support from specialist officers and have asked their privacy be respected at this difficult time.”

Call police on 101 with information about the crash.
