TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Sheffield councillor after his death from heart failure at the age of 68.

Peter Fox served as a Liberal Democrat representing Dore between 1995 and 1999.

He had a keen interest in transport and was the Lib Dem spokesman on the issue while in opposition. Peter ran a company called ‘Platform 5’ that published a regular magazine on light rail issues.

Mr Fox, of Dore, leaves wife Doreen, two daughters and a son.

Coun Peter Moore, Lib Dem leader when Mr Fox was a councillor, said: “We were all sorry to hear the sad news Peter had passed away. He was extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of transport. As well as doing a first class job representing Dore, he played a key part in developing transport policy within the group.”
