Tributes after two die in South Yorkshire road crashes

Tributes have been paid to a married dad from Sheffield who died in a motorbike crash in the city.

John Bryan, aged 43, from Jordanthorpe, was killed when his bike was in collision with a black Renault Megane on Quarry Hill, Mosborough.

He was riding a blue and white Suzuki motorcycle towards Mosborough when the collision happened, near the junction with Parkgate Drive.

The crash happened on Friday, September 20, at about 7.25am.

Paying tribute to her husband, his wife said: “John was a devoted husband to me and father to his boys and he will be sadly missed.

“I would like to thank everyone involved for their help and support; the police, hospital staff, paramedics and the public. My heartfelt thanks go especially to the people who were with John at the time of the accident.”

n Police have also named the victim of another road traffic collision.

Reginald Ensor, aged 82, from Swinton, died in hospital two weeks after his blue Citroen Picasso was struck by a green Toyota Avensis in Rotherham.

The smash happened on Kingsforth Lane, near the junction of Sandy Lane, Wickersley, on Wednesday, September 11, at about 10.50pm.

Yesterday Nicholas Crane, aged 41, from Dinnington, appeared at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court, charged with driving over the prescribed limit and without insurance in connection with the crash.

Police are appealing for witnesses to both incidents.
