Trekkers on route to library

TWO intrepid local explorers will be reliving their Himalayan adventures at a Rotherham library later this month.

Trekking colleagues David Peckett and John Driskell will be giving a talk at Wath Library on Thursday, February 23 about their journey to the Everest base camp in the 1960s.

Retired teacher David, of Wath, and John, from Sheffield, will talk and show pictures of their journey, which involved them and three other adventurous friends driving from Barnsley to Kathmandu, via Afghanistan.

Admission to the talk, which starts at 6.30pm, is free and refreshments will be available.
