DONCASTER residents have boosted one of the town’s most prominent home-grown charities by more than £5,000 over the festive season.
Donations to the Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust’s Memory Tree hit £5,021 in its 15th year in the town’s Frenchgate Centre.
DCDT founder Jeanette Fish said: “We would like to thank the Frenchgate Shopping Centre for again hosting the Memory Tree. It’s our 15th year with the Frenchgate Centre and we are grateful to them for giving us the opportunity to raise more awareness and more funds.
“We would also like to thank the generosity of the people of Doncaster for once again supporting the Doncaster Cancer Detection Trust.”
Patron Rosie Winterton MP added: “Thanks to all the people who have donated to the Memory Tree for their generosity and support of this worthy cause.”
Civic mayor Christine Mills was present as this year’s cheque was handed over to the charity.
