Trapped cat makes escape

FIREfighters in Sheffield were scrambled to rescue a stranded cat – only to find the stranded moggy had made its own way out of its predicament.

Officers from Low Edges were alerted by RSPCA officers that a cat had become stuck under a decked area of garden at Chantrey House Nursery on Chantrey Road, Woodseats, at around 9pm on Monday.

The cat, which had undergone surgery, was thought to have been under the decking for several hours.

But when the fire crew arrived just a few minutes after receiving the call the cat was out and is now reported to be safe and well.
