Tramway could grow
EXTRA trams and an expanded network of tracks in Sheffield have not been written off despite rejection of Government funding.
The plans have been resurrected in a Draft Tram Strategy for 2008 to 2021, published by South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive, and passengers are invited to give their views.
The organisation, which co-ordinates public transport in the county, said extra capacity could be necessary in coming years.
The document holds open the possibility of expanding the network in the future subject to funding being available.
