Training centre staff help raise cash for victims of sexual abuse

Staff from a Sheffield training centre have been raising money for the city’s Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, which offers free and confidential support to women and girls.

Volunteers from the Source Skills Academy at Meadowhall have been taking part in a variety of activities including a non-uniform day, Ben Nevis climb, sponsored Lent challenge and raffle, raising £855 for the charity.

Chris Scarlett, chair of trustees at the charity, said: “We are delighted with the generous donation from The Source.

“To put the donation into perspective, that amount of money will pay for 26 free counselling sessions for our clients or for three of our helpline volunteers to go on training weekends.”
