Hundreds of people are expected to take their bikes to church this Sunday in a bid to break a wheely unusual record.

The ‘Tour de Ecclesall’ will be the second such event hosted by All Saint’s Church on Ringinglow Road, Ecclesall.

Last year 209 people of all ages rode their bikes to a Sunday service and then wheeled them through the church, inspired by the Tour de France.

Rev Gary Wilton said he was hoping that even more people would turn out this year.

In 2014 more than £1,000 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care and on Sunday collections will be made for Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Bikes can arrived from 10.30am for an 11am service.
