Top tips to enjoy the Christmas weekend

Have your say

CHRISTMAS Eve means Christmas is officially less than 24 hours away and, unless you’re a character in some zany holiday film, you’re probably just about ready for the big day.

The last couple of weeks have been a nightmarish haze of shopping lists, panic attacks and holding back the tears in Meadowhall, but now the hard part is over and the good times can begin!

We spend such a long time getting ready for this holiday, so enjoy as much of it as possible.

Aim to get all your last-minute things done early in the day so you can enjoy the evening with loved ones. Settle down to watch a heart-warming film in front of the fire, then read The Night Before Christmas together before bed.

Pick the most dramatic member of the family to do the reading, complete with funny voices.

Remember, whatever your age, the magic of Christmas is half the fun, so leave a mince pie out for Santa and hang up your stocking before bed.

We all get to be kids at Christmas so enjoy childhood traditions and take time to revel in the whimsy of the season...

Merry Christmas everyone!
