Sheffield students took home a bronze medal from a national science competition.
The group from Newfield School in Norton came third in the finals of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s prestigious Top of the Bench competition.
Pupils had to complete written and laboratory work.
Headteacher Tim Eldridge said: “I am delighted at this achievement and very proud of the young people who represented Newfield and Sheffield so well.
“We have many bright and able students, and to come third in a field of 30 teams in such a prestigious competition shows our students are able to hold their own against the very best in the country.”
