South Yorkshire Housing Association has won Regional Social Landlord of the Year for the second time in a row at the annual Housing Excellence Awards.
Fighting off stiff competition from five other top regional organisations, SYHA scooped the award for making ‘continuous improvement’ to customer services.
Tony Stacey, SYHA chief executive, said: “I’m so proud of everyone at SYHA, their hard work has been recognised yet again.”
SYHA is based in Sheffield but also has properties in Barnsley, Bolsover, Chesterfield, Doncaster, North East Derbyshire and Rotherham, housing 6,000 tenants.
It has developed a range of extra services to help residents including environmental advice and personalised help for those in supported accommodation. SYHA has also set up a subsidiary selling homes at affordable prices to first-time buyers.
