A BARNSLEY steel firm has scooped a top accolade at an industry awards ceremony.
Billington Structures Ltd was recognised for its work refurbishing the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The company was one of six shortlisted for the prize, scoring highly for efficiency, cost effectiveness, aesthetics, sustainability and innovation.
As part of the £112.8m project, which included the creation of a new auditorium and refurbishment and extensions to areas of the historic theatre, Billington was enlisted to manufacture and supply 580 tonnes of steel.
Steve Mason, technical director at Billington Structures, said: “This was both a technically and logistically challenging project and it suited our capabilities perfectly.”
