ANIMAL lovers in Sheffield are using their pets to keep warm during winter weather, according to new research.
A survey of city residents, commissioned by Polypipe Home Solutions, found one of the top five ways people stay cosy is by placing a furry friend on their knee.
Wearing a partner’s socks, moving the bed near to the radiator and donning scarves and gloves inside were other tips shared by those who took part in the survey.
Martin Dootson, market development manager for Polypipe Home Solutions, said: “As the temperature drops, it seems we will go to unusual levels to beat the cold.
“Not being warm enough can often be a main cause friction in an otherwise happy household, so it is no wonder winter woollies are often a popular Christmas gift.”
