OVERNIGHT resurfacing of the A631 lower Tinsley Viaduct, near Sheffield, starts this week.
The £250,000 Highways Agency scheme also involves the renewal of road markings and studs.
Work is due to begin on Wednesday and will last until Saturday, March 24.
The carriageways will be closed between 8pm and 6am, with the northbound closed from Wednesday until the following Tuesday and the southbound closing over the subsequent four nights.
Diversions will take traffic along the A6109 Meadowhall Road, Meadowhall Way and A6178 Sheffield Road.
Project sponsor Tim Calvert said: “We will be working hard to ensure disruption to road users as well as residents is kept to a minimum but some inconvenience is inevitable.”
