Questions have been raised about how Sheffield Council carried out a survey about rubbish and recycling collections.
The Waste Strategy 2014 Consultation, which contained 14 questions on residents’ waste habits, closed on October 31.
Alex Dale, Sheffield Conservatives’ spokesman on environment, said: “This survey is clearly geared to support a predetermined outcome.
“The tick-box style of questions prevents residents from having the opportunity to say what they really want. Services like free and regular waste collections and free-to-use recycling centres, with decent opening hours, should be protected not debated.”
Sheffield Council said the consultation will help to develop a plan for managing waste and recycling for the next five to 20 years.
