BRICKS were thrown at a train in an ‘extremely foolish and dangerous act’.
Police are investigating the incident, which took place on Monday, July 9, at about 6.35pm as a Sheffield-bound train passed under a bridge near Wombwell station.
PC Ewan Brechin, of British Transport Police, said: “The impact of the bricks, which we believe were thrown from the bridge, caused damage to several windows of the Northern Rail train.
“This was an extremely foolish and dangerous act, which resulted in a train being damaged.”
No passengers were hurt in the incident.
