Protesters campaigning against cuts to free train travel for the elderly in South Yorkshire are set to make their voices heard three times this week.
Barnsley Retirees Action Group will hold protests at Barnsley railway station today, on Wednesday and Friday at 11am each time.
The campaign has been running for several months and the protests have already seen the reinstatement of free travel in the region for disabled people.
Controversy was sparked in June when two ‘freedom ride’ protesters aged in their 60s were arrested at Sheffield Station. They are set to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court in December.
