A MURDER investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a house in South Yorkshire.

Mark Stannard, aged 45, had suffered ‘serious internal injuries’.

Three people have been arrested after Mr Stannard’s body was discovered at the house he shared on Burton Avenue, in Balby, Doncaster.

Two men and a woman, all from Doncaster, were last night being questioned by detectives on suspicion of murder.

Mr Stannard’s grieving father, sister and niece released a statement speaking of their heartbreak.

“We are devastated to hear of Mark’s death,” the family said.

“He was a loving son, brother and uncle.

“This is a very difficult time for us all, coming to terms with what has happened.

“We’d now like to be left alone to grieve in peace.”

Police revealed last night that Mr Stannard’s body was discovered on Wednesday.

Officers had been called out at about 3.30pm to his home, where he lived with two other men.

A post-mortem examination the following day revealed he had died from ‘serious internal injuries’.
