Three South Yorkshire businesses are facing heavy fines after raids by Home Office immigration enforcement discovered illegal workers.

Officers visited Chicken Cottage in the Wicker, Sheffield, and two businesses in Doncaster – Asian Spice on Sandringham Road and Hollywood Nails on Market Road.

At Chicken Cottage, three men aged 20, 24 and 27, all from Pakistan, were found to be in the UK illegally.

They were arrested and have been detained pending their removal from the UK.

At Asian Spice, two men from Bangladesh, aged 22 and 39, were arrested.

And at At Hollywood Nails two men, aged 24 and 34, and a 16-year-old girl, all from Vietnam, were arrested after they too were found to be in the UK illegally.

A Home Office spokeswoman said the organisations were facing fines of £10,000 for each illegal employee.
