Firefighters have revealed that three businesses suffered severe damage after a blaze broke out in an MOT centre in Sheffield.

Crews were alerted to the blaze on Herries Road, Fir Vale, and found a garage engulfed in flames.

They battled to prevent the flames from spreading, but Shans Tints and Fir Vale Tyre Stop both suffered 'radiated heat' damage.

Temporary group manager Simon Rodgers said crews managed to save an accountancy firm and a windscreen repair centre, but two neighbouring units both suffered significant damage.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
