AN INTIMIDATING tenant who was aggressive towards his neighbours, attacking one of them and who allowed his two dogs to foul outside his shared block of flats is to be evicted.

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard Gary Ledwood, of Ridal Avenue, Stocksbridge, Sheffield, was convicted of battery last October after attacking one of his neighbours, grabbing him round the neck and threatening him with a baseball bat.

On numerous occasions throughout his tenancy he allowed his two dogs to bark frequently and cause mess outside, behaved aggressively, and argued noisily with his girlfriend and friends, shouting and swearing and issuing violent threats.

Sheffield Homes and the council have now applied for a warrant for court bailiffs to evict Ledwood from the property.

Coun Penny Baker, cabinet member for housing, said: “When anti-social behaviour does take place, we will do everything in our power to stop it and punish those responsible.

“This tenant intimidated his neighbours and we will not tolerate any kind of criminal activity taking place in our properties.

“We can and will take action, which in this case has ultimately lead to an eviction.”
