I wonder if Julie Dore and her colleagues were in Barnsley on Saturday.
The council were celebrating National Libraries Day even though they have to cut their budget.
Perhaps our councillors could pick up a few tips on how to keep essential services and make cuts elsewhere. The trouble is Sheffield Council would sooner spend money on Burngreave and Firth Park and a new sporting venue at Firth Park.
Mind you it’s the Governments fault. Was it they who told them to spend £4.4m on consultants or refuse investments for Next and Ikea, even though it would create hundreds of jobs?
Now they have withdrawn money from Tramlines and have cancelled Fright Night. Never mind the loss of income to shops and businesses. This council lives for today. They have no vision for the future.
