DEDICATION to grassroots football in Sheffield will be recognised in May with the presentation of the third Derek Dooley Award.
The event at Sheffield Wednesday’s Hillsborough ground is being organised by the Sheffield and Hallamshire FA and Sheffield City Council.
There will also be a number of other awards to reward individuals involved in the game from across the region.
The main award has been commissioned to recognise and honour the outstanding contribution made by Derek Dooley to both professional sides in Sheffield, and for the grassroots game as a whole.
Last year’s winner was Brian Bradley, who has dedicated his whole life to the game starting out as a player, then becoming a referee and referees assessor.
