Shocked dad Ryan Ingham shelled out £2,000 and painstakingly installed a six foot fence so his two children could play safely in his garden.

But Ryan, aged 27, was devastated when he woke up the day he finished the project to find thieves had stolen every one of the 14 wooden panels.

Now Ryan and partner Jody Smith’s children Finlay, aged five, and Lily, one, aren’t allowed into the garden because they can run straight on to the street.

Ryan, a self-employed courier from Thrybergh, Rotherham, said: “The fencing was there to keep them off the road and safe. Now we daren’t let them play in the garden. I spent so much time and effort getting the garden right this is a real kick in the teeth.

“They are big, heavy panels. They must have had a van and after finding the panels they must have carried them some way before loading up.
