The Saturdays, Sheffield City Hall - REVIEW AND SLIDESHOW

SATURDAY night and the ladies were out on the town in force - not only in the crowd at Sheffield City Hall but out on stage too.

Anticipation was rife when The Saturdays appeared atop a raised platform, dressed in trench coats for breakthrough single If This Is Love.

Of course, the coats were quickly removed with each member revealing their own daring silver party frock.

Like the outfits, the dance routines oozed a slick yet sassy appeal.

While their cover of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough was decorated by an imaginative posing on chairs routine; Why Me, Why Now was given a chic Motown makeover.

A brief candid camera film of the band's cheeky antics on tour acted as a brief interlude before the girls were back in black for a cover medley which featured Rihanna's Shut Up And Drive, Katy Perry's I Kissed A Girl and Pink's So What.

Despite orders to scream for an encore, their return was never in doubt as the group appeared for the final time in their most glittery glad-rags for Issues. The grand finale left no surprises as umbrellas were the choice prop for an emphatic rendition of Up.

Fresh from chart-topping success, support act Pixie Lott hinted at her own budding pop career before an already packed venue with a sophisticated set which included acoustic covers of Kings Of Leon's Use Somebody and Stevie Wonder's Isn't She Lovely.

With a vocal range almost as impressive as her glittering, show-stopping leotard, it was her number one hit Mama Do that really got the crowd going.
