The tree is back with vengeance

Have your say

Further to DM’s letter about trees blocking light from homes, we’ve had the same experience with Sheffield council who could not be less interested.

Further to DM’s letter about trees blocking light from homes, we’ve had the same experience with Sheffield council who could not be less interested.

We live on a small side road lined with sycamore trees. They block out light, their seeds and leaves make a mess of gardens and they are a haven for pigeons. I contacted the council three years ago to ask if there were any plans to cut them back, only to be told that unless they were touching our windows, we didn’t meet their criteria.

In desperation, I paid hundreds to have the tree directly outside our house cut back. Needless to say it has grown back with a vengeance - any chance our council taxes will cover it? I doubt it somehow!

Low-life theft on our estate

Being a TARA representative you get hardened to what low-life do to your estate from destruction to theft etc.

Today I came across a situation where I would like to nominate the scum who stole a white rabbit and its hut from Dryden Drive as being on the edge.

Whatever the reason, to steal a child’s pet is the lowest in my book.

If anyone out there does see someone who has obtained a rabbit hut with a mesh front and a small door plus a white rabbit, tell the police. That way the children can have their rabbit back.

In the meantime the low-life should remember, God doesn’t pay debts in money. If they’re intelligent enough to understand what I mean.
