Like all residents , I pay my council tax and the council, in their wisdom, sub-contract refuse collection to Veolia. Finding they can’t make enough profit from recycling paper due to most offices etc now being ‘paper-less’, Veolia are looking for alternative revenue, thus the change from large storage containers for paper to cans etc.
Veolia’s attitude towards customers is appalling. They are quick to complain if bins etc are over-full or contaminated in the slightest way, but slow to offer any form of rebate or credit when bins are only half full.
So I suggest the council finds an alternative service provider. Since when has it been acceptable for the tail to wag the dog? If you agree, write in and say so.
