ELDERLY couple Pam and Raymond Wilman were steaming mad - after suffering a host of problems with their bathroom.

The couple, both aged 73, who live in a council property at Bonville Gardens, Netherthorpe, complained to The Star after suffering two leaks from pipes to the toilet cistern, then the switch broke and the shower drain became blocked.

Pam said: “We were unable to use the shower for two weeks while waiting for the switch, then the drain, to be fixed.”

Kier said: “All the repairs have been completed and fixed.” The company added that the incidents were ‘unfortunate coincidences’.

Meanwhile, another tenant who contacted The Star after waiting two months for a £25 goodwill payment from Kier to cover a host of telephone calls to its repair line is finally receiving his compensation.

Jeff Oldfield, of Springvale Walk, Upperthorpe, complained about leaks at his home which he said took a month to be fully repaired.

Sheffield Homes has apologised and blamed an administrative error for the delay.
