MPS aren’t the types who usually mince their words.
So who better to ask to judge a mince pie competition than North-East Derbyshire MP Natascha Engel?
Natascha got into the spirit at The Dronfield Arms pub, where Vicky and Billy Butler, owners of Butler’s bakery in Dronfield, helped her to decide which of the 20 entrants’ pies were best.
All the pies were marked for presentation, creativity and taste, and Dronfield mum-of-three Helen Wilkinson was declared the winner, with Liz Hepworth finishing runner-up.
But the biggest winner was Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, as the pies were then sold to hungry regulars with proceeds going to the charity.
Natascha said: “It was a really fun occasion for a very worthy cause and Helen was a deserving winner.”
