REAL Radio and Sheftival organisers today had good reason to make some noise - they’ve added The Noisettes!

Don’t Upset the Rhythm (Go Baby Go) and Never Forget You are their big chart hits.

They are going for Olympic gold in 2012 with their new single, Winner, which is set to become the people’s anthem during a momentous year for Sheffield and across the UK.

And today it was announced they will be performing on the Real Radio Main Stage at The Star-backed Sheftival, the music and sports festival in Don Valley Bowl.

Every day this week, Real Radio and The Star will announce the final top chart acts to be performing at the event, which will be staged over August 4 and 5.

The Noisettes, an indie rock band from London, comprising of lead singer and bassist Shingai Shoniwa and guitarist Dan Smith, were described as ‘the best live band in Britain’ by The Guardian newspaper last year.

Shoniwa said: “We always go that extra mile to give the crowd a night they’ll never forget.”

Real Radio’s Feel Good Breakfast show presenters Dixie and Gayle said: “The Noisettes are an awesome addition to the Sheftival line-up along with The Lightning Seed, Dodgy and Toots and The Maytals.

“We  are very excited to be announcing a new act every morning this week with the Sheftival headliner coming on Friday.

“Make sure you don’t miss out on the hot news by tuning in or buying The Star every day.”

Sheftival, spanning a 25-acre site with a mix of music, sport, food, drink and other entertainment, is timed to celebrate Jessica Ennis’s Olympic final.
